Developed by Earth Charter US, the Sustainable Business Awards will recognize Tampa Bay Area businesses whose efforts have demonstrated sustainable business practices that embrace social, economic and environmental responsibility. It focuses on People (Community Wellbeing), Profit (Economic Performance) and Planet (Environmental Health). In addition, winners will be invited to join the Earth Charter US Sustainable Business Coalition. The Coalition, comprised of top executives and corporate officers, is helping to shape Tampa Bay’s sustainable economy.

Some of our company's policies, procedures and future initiatives include:

Training Employees on the:

  • Conservation of energy
  • Reduction in natural resources
  • Sustainable practices

Daily Operation Conservation:

  • Better use of recyclable materials, specifically the implementation and utilization of two sided printing, recycled or remanufactured ink cartridges, the discontinuation of plastic or paper silverware or utensils
  • More efficient use of utilities to save and conserve energy, specifically:
    • Installation of energy saving plumbing
    • Computer hardware switches systems to energy saving mode after 15 minutes
    • All equipment must be turned off when not in use
  • Posted signs in employee areas to remind staff of conservation efforts

Internal Policies

  • Implementation of annual Energy Audits to review the utilization of:
    • Utility usage
    • Recycled materials

Facility Maintenance, specifically:

  • Air conditioning systems are checked on a regular basis for coolant or air leaks.
  • Our exterior water spouts have automatic shut-off timers
  • We only use Green cleaning products
  • Green pest management (of course)
  • Windows have solar film
  • Air conditioning system is on an automatic timer

Fleet Maintenance, specifically:

  • Tire pressure is regularly checked
  • Each vehicle is equipped with GPS software to minimize drive time and use of over acceleration
  • Fuel usage is monitored on a monthly basis for efficiency
